Summary:

The primary job functions are to flawlessly execute projects and propose solutions for current and prospective clients. The prospective consultant will have basic know-how of conceptual preliminary process design, economic optimization, material balances, utility balances, cost-estimating, financial analysis, and operations in order to work with a diverse set of clients. 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Support opportunities in process-related activities, which will include supporting refining, chemical, and/or low-carbon projects.
  • Support of consulting services to clients including benchmarking, gap analysis, solution identification, justification, prioritization, ranking, and implementation.
  • Lead studies and perform assigned tasks on studies that delivery value to our clients within budget and schedule.
  • Identify and engage in business development activities for consulting services.
  • Lead and support proposals.
  • Support a continuous improvement culture.

Experience and Qualifications:

The candidates must demonstrate competency and experience in the following:

  • Able to work within a ‘sell-do’ model.
  • Strong self-starter and motivated to succeed.
  • Ability to manage deliverables for multiple projects at the same time.
  • Experience and knowledge of process design for refining fuels, chemicals, and/or renewable fuels and chemicals. 
  • Strong technical acumen and problem-solving, optimization, and analysis mindset.
  • Quick learner and positive “can-do” mindset.
  • Familiarity with PFDs, P&IDs, and Plot Plans, 
  • Familiarity with equipment sizing fundamentals, heat exchanger fundamentals, pump and compressor fundamentals. 
  • Experience with optimization tools such as PIMs is essential.
  • Process modelling experience using Aspen/HYSYS. PetroSim, UniSim, HTRI, PROII, or PetroPlan is preferred. 
  • Financial modelling experience or exposure is preferred but not essential. 
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to produce concise reports and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Chemical Engineering degree or equivalent
  • 10-15 years of relevant consulting or process engineering experience
  • This position is open to remote working. It is advantageous, but not required, to be local to one of our three main offices: Houston, Chicago, or Los Angeles.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Able and willing to travel on occasional short-duration business trips
