**Description**

**POSITION SUMMARY:**

Responsible for negotiating and procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies for Company.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Reviews requisitions and confers with vendors to obtain products or services such as negotiating price, availability, and delivery.

* Research domestic and overseas suppliers for competitive pricing and deliveries**.**

* Manages vendor relations and leads dispute negotiations.

* Handle any manufacturing, delivery, or accounting problems that may arise.

* Determines methods of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.

* Prepares purchase or bid requests.

* Reviews bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

* Utilizes computerized purchasing and non-conformance systems.

* Resolves defective or unacceptable goods or services with affected OSI personnel and others to determine the issue and get corrective action from the vendor.

* Expedites delivery of goods to users.

* Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

* Perform all tasks as required of a Safety Sensitive position.

**QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:**

* Bachelors degree with at least 5-7 years previous purchasing experience in manufacturing environment; or at least 9 years of previous purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment without a degree.

* At least 5 years previous purchasing experience related to engineered components (i.e., forgings, castings, machined parts).

* Experience with global sourcing is desirable.

* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Proficient using computers, including Outlook email, Excel, and Word.

* Basic mathematical skills.

* Ability to hand multiple tasks at one time.

* Detail oriented.
