We are looking for a self-motivated and conscientious EXPANDED DUTY dental assistant that is passionate about dental hygiene. It will be this assistant's primary job to help our hygienist with anything needed for patient care. Responsibilities include but are not limited to patient room setup, welcoming patients to the back office, taking various radiographs, identifying problem areas on patients, updating and verifying dental/medical history, taking patient vitals, updating patient charts, helping the hygienist during scaling if needed, taking the lead on education and prophy for young children cleaning appointments, polishing and flossing patients after scaling, assisting the dentist with patient exam, applying fluoride, escorting and handing off patient to front office team after appointments, cleaning and resetting treatment room, cleaning and maintenance of instruments, making and giving patient hygiene bags, drafting treatment notes, and any other tasks that help the office move along smoothly through the day.
EDDA is required for this position due to patient polishing and flossing. Assistant needs to understand taking FMX, pano, and CBCT (will train if needed). Other useful skills include impressions and model pours, inventory management, and being able to have productive conversations with patients and parents about dental health.
