The primary purpose of your job position is to provide uncertified duties in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by DON / ADON.

Your major responsibility is to assist residents in the basic feeding techniques.

Other responsibilities :

Perform assigned duties in accordance with our established policies and procedures, nursing care procedures, and our safety rules and regulations.

Verify the identification of a resident before serving food, etc. to assure appropriate care is being provided to resident.

Perform after-meal care as required (cleaning resident's hands, face, clothing, etc.)

Assist in preparing residents for meals (taking to and from dining room, serving trays, placing bibs, feeding and cutting foods, supervision while in dining room, etc.)

Note resident's food intake as directed.

Make unoccupied beds, clean bedside tables, bedrails, as well as other housekeeping duties related to nursing care procedures.

Report any / all complaints to Nurses, DON / ADON

Follow infection control procedures, as established by the facility, when isolation techniques are necessary

Maintain confidentiality of resident care information to assure resident rights are protected.

On the job training is provided.

Must possess a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.

Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.

Must possess, at a minimum, a 10th grade education. (preferably high school diploma or GED)

Other necessary requirements for fulfilling requirements of this position :

Heimlich Maneuver Training

Paid Feeding Assistant Training Program in the state in which the facility is located

Hours : 6a-2p
