Job Summary:
The Specialty Companies is seeking a skilled and experienced Offset Press Operator to join our team in Portsmouth, Virginia. As an Offset Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating offset printing presses, ensuring high-quality and efficient production of printed materials. This is a part-time, position for an individual contributor, with a rate of $19 to $21 per hour paid biweekly. We are looking for a team player who works well with others and wants to contribute to a positive, growing company.
Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate offset printing presses according to job specifications and deadlines
• Monitor and adjust press settings to ensure high-quality production of printed materials
• Mix and prepare ink for use in printing presses
• Troubleshoot and solve any technical issues that may arise during the printing process
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on presses
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
• Communicate with team members, supervisors, and customers to ensure smooth and timely production
• Meet production quotas and deadlines while maintaining high levels of quality
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating offset printing presses
• Knowledge of offset press operations, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Must possess strong attention to detail and have a keen eye for quality control
• Ability to operate various types of printing equipment, including 2- and 4-color presses
• Familiarity with different types of printing materials and inks
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
