A growing, private podiatry office in Erie, PA is searching for a motivated, reliable, proactive, and caring individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant. The position provides essential support and administrative services to the office, the doctor, and the patients in an office focused on comprehensive, compassionate care. The Medical Assistant will be involved in a wide spectrum of tasks focused around assisting the doctor during the course of the day.

Medical Assistant Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and help them to the treatment room, making sure patients are comfortable and prepared for an exam by the physician
• Complete intake of patient information
• Document all processes and information clearly in the EHR according to guidelines and office policies
• Prepare rooms for procedures to be performed and assist, as needed
• Review information sheets with patients, as needed
• Clean treatment rooms at end of each appointment
• Open and prep exam rooms each morning/ Close and clean exam rooms at end of day
• Clean, wrap and autoclave instruments and packs, as needed
• Perform X-rays and digital radiography
• Complete pre-authorizations
• Dispense DME
• Measure and fit patients for Diabetic shoes, heat moldable inserts
• Communicate with outside vendors, as needed
• Replenish inventory of supplies and DME items, restocking drawers and rooms daily
• Assist front office staff with answering telephones, scheduling patients and collecting payments
• Other duties as assigned

Medical Assistant Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma/ GED equivalent
• Medical Assisting Certification, preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work well on a team
• Proactive mindset to anticipate needs of staff, physician and patients
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Effective communicator
• Detail oriented
• Able to use good judgement and maintain confidentiality
• Comfortable with technology, including EHR programs, MS Office and Google Suite
