Link Belt Cranes is Hiring an Associate Design Engineer Near Lexington, KY
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare and check complex calculations to determine size, strength, or other information limiting or governing the performance and/or design of a new or existing product
- Prepare and check detail drawings for accuracy and conformance to Link-Belt Design policies
- Create layouts of new designs or revisions to existing designs
- Interact with suppliers to obtain component information and establish component specifications
- Prepare and check engineering orders per Link-Belt Design Policies
- Product and revise bills of materials per Link-Belt Design Policies
- Calculate weights and center of gravities for components and assemblies
- Prepare and review assembly drawings for proper fit, completeness including all necessary dimensions
- Investigate and design solutions for “sales special” request as needed
- Investigate field service issues and make recommendations for corrections
- Support prototype assembly process as needed
- Support manufacturing areas as needed during assembly, welding, and machining processes
- Resolve manufacturing issues identified by production engineering, material sourcing, welders and assemblers
- Coordinate the work of other personnel to complete designs
- Four (4) year college degree
- BS in an engineering discipline (mechanical or agricultural, preferred)
- Minimum of one (1) year of proven design or co-op experience
