Position Summary
The Housing Director will be responsible for the overall quality of our supportive housing programs. The Housing Director is responsible for driving progress on our strategic goals to ensure all residents have safe, welcoming, and quality housing and that they achieve greater housing stability through effective supportive services. This position will work toward our goal to become a model supportive housing provider that effectively integrates service providers to meet the needs of those most impacted by housing instability.
Minimum Qualifications
· Must have skills and knowledge acquired through at least of the following:
1. A course of study in a health or human services-related field leading to a Bachelor of Arts, bachelor of science, or associate’s degree.
2. One year experience with the target population served (can include being a member of the target population)
3. Experience as a MN Department of Human Services certified peer specialist according to MN Statutes section 256B.0615.
4. Meets requirements of unlicensed personnel under MN Statutes sections 144A.43 to 144A.483.
· Must pass a Department of Human Services background study and sexual exploitation screening.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· HMIS and management experience preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership
- Work with Executive Director and leadership team to develop organization goals, plans, financial models, budgets, and policies.
- With the Executive Director and leadership team in developing goals and strategies and evaluating outcomes.
- Foster collaboration between programs to ensure shared organization goals and strategies are met.
- Contribute strategies to increase diversity, inclusion, and equity within the organization.
Leadership
- Focus on achieving the strategic goals for all residents to have safe, welcoming, and quality housing and to achieve greater housing stability through effective supportive services.
- Develop and implement a plan for Pursue Housing to achieve its goal of being a model supportive housing provider.
- Ensure the alignment of service and property models and resources to meet the needs of the resident population.
- Lead the creation of new supportive housing through visioning and resource. development for services and operations in collaboration with other programs.
- Lead multi-year planning and prioritization of resources to meet these strategic goals.
Diversity Equity & Inclusion leadership
- Drive the strategies to meet the goals of the diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
- Ensure that race is not a determiner of success in our housing.
- Develop and implement opportunities for lived/ resident experience to inform our creation and delivery of supportive housing.
- Advocate for changes in policies and procedures in funding and government processes that impede housing access.
Staff supervision as we hire on more staff:
- Build and maintain a stable high performing staff team.
- Define clear staff roles and responsibilities and prioritize work assignments to achieve program goals.
- Hire, evaluate and terminate staff according to organizational policies and procedures.
- Ensure that staff receive adequate training and professional development.
- Promote a positive working environment through team building and employee appreciation.
Day To Day Operations:
- Reporting in HMIS
- Creating Housing Plans and related housing documents.
- Support the House Manager and meet with weekly.
- Housing Supports intakes, completing paperwork, and showings.
- Managing conflict and other household concerns.
- Implementing once a month house meetings.
- Point of contact for residents.
- Billing of Housing Supports and Housing Stabilization Services.
- Attending meetings, contact with community providers, and promotion of programming.
- Meeting with the guys at the house face to face a few times a week.
- Holding residents accountable.
- Ensuring that all documents are submitted in a timely manner for residents.
- Ensure all residents are adhering to program rules.
- Resident engagement and support.
- Ensure that all rooms are occupied.
- Housing Stabilization Services.
- Community outreach.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to work effectively with and relate to diverse populations.

- Knowledge of homelessness and housing supportive services and systems.

- Ability to travel periodically within the St. Louis County area.
- Computer application proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
