Primary Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on a variety of marine engines and systems
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on inboard and outboard motors, transmissions, and other marine components
- Conduct inspections and tests to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards
- Install and repair boat systems, including steering, electrical, plumbing, and propulsion systems
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and labor hours
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in marine technology and repair techniques
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in marine mechanics preferred
- Proven experience as a marine mechanic or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of marine engine systems, including inboard and outboard motors
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and hand tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy parts and working in various weather conditions
