We are looking for a Senior Director of Communications to join our team! The individual in this key position will work alongside the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer to develop, implement, and oversee a wide range of strategic communications strategies and activities aimed at enhancing the reputation and broad-scale awareness of Easterseals NH & VT both internally and externally. The position closely partners with the Senior Director of Marketing to ensure that all Easterseals NH & VT’s communication and marketing activities are aligned with branding and support the agencies strategic plan goals. Responsibilities include: Manage and oversee content writing personnel with a dotted line to digital communications and VT communication staff. Create, oversee, and participate in communication strategy, writing, editing, brand messaging, public relations, and content delivery.Strategically utilize an umbrella brand strategy to effectively communicate Easterseals NH & VT’s mission, programs, staff recruitment, and leadership to internal (staff, board of directors, committees, volunteers) and external audiences (donors, referral and program partners, clients, and community members) through a range of channels using varied content assets. Develop and assess measurable goals and objectives and adapt messaging and/or processes based on results yielding a strong ROI.Project manage and be responsible for content editorial calendar, content strategy and development, proofing, tracking, and execution for employee newsletter, vlogs and blogs, annual report, print and electronic newsletters, thought leadership opportunities, award applications, social media, and email drip campaigns. Work with program, development, and leadership staff to strategize, create, and implement public awareness by developing client, staff, donor, and volunteer stories to enhance the understanding of Easterseals NH & VT to internal and external audiences.Help to create a storytelling culture that embraces new ways to tell the organizations story, including leadership messages and strategic plan updates. Strategize, write, and oversee content for fundraising appeals and other donor materials. Prepare media talking points and write news releases and feature stories. Support crisis communications, be aware of potential thought leadership opportunities, protect organizational brand and reputation, and identify communications opportunities. Build and institutionalize integration processes and mechanisms to ensure long-term success. When needed, be an ambassador in the community by representing the organization at business and community eventsScript talking points for major organization events, videos, and interviews. Help to manage budgets and submit and manage invoices within the allocated budget. Manage external vendors and ensure contracts are current.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or related field of study. Five to seven (5-7) years of senior strategic communications or public relations experience with demonstrated results.Three to five (3-5) years supervisory experience, including providing mentorship and coaching, and performance assessment, hiring, and firing. At least three (3) years’ experience with Smartsheet or other type of online project management software, certification preferred. Demonstrated experience developing and implementing comprehensive communications, media relations, and external affairs plans and strategies. Extensive writing, editing, and proofing experience for both external and internal audiences for a variety of print and online media. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of applications.Superior interpersonal and organization skills with high-level attention to detail and the ability to anticipate future demands and opportunities. Creative problem solver with strong emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills.Ability to travel in a multi-state region.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Hours: This is a full-time position.Compensation: Starting $85,000 annually.
