Job Description And DutiesThis position is located in Sacramento, CA, and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for employees who can satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely. Specific telework schedules may be discussed further during the interview process.

DUTIES: The Associate Environmental Planner (AEP) works in the Division of Land Resource Protection (DLRP) within the Department of Conservation (DOC) under the general direction of the Senior Environmental Planner (SEP) for the Division’s land conservation programs. These programs include the Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program (SALC), the California Farmland Conservancy Program (CFCP), and the Agricultural Land Mitigation Program (ALMP), The Division partners with the California Natural Resources Agency (Agency), the Strategic Growth Council (Council), agricultural land trusts, and other organizations to permanently protect California’s important agricultural lands for multiple benefits, including food production, climate resilience, economic growth, and watershed and ecosystem services. This position supports the Division’s easement, conservation, and planning programs through program development, grant management, and a variety of other services

ASSOCIATE ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNER ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNER
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet Minimum Qualifications, the applicant will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Applicants who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.
