We are accepting applications for two Professional Research Assistant positions supporting stress-related research projects in the Root lab.

Who We Are
We are a research lab in the Psychology and Neuroscience Department within The University of Colorado. Our goal is to identify the specific cell-types, pathways, and molecules that control rewarding and aversive experiences.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Responsibilities include managing mouse colony, stereotaxic injection, behavioral experimentation, imaging, managing students and experiments, and analysis of data.

Hiring two full time positions for 40 hours per week.
What We Can Offer
Annual salary range is $38,000 to $42,000 depending on skills and experience. The University of Colorado offers excellent benefit options.

What We Require
Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related scientific field.
What You Will Need
It is expected that the candidate is highly motivated and will extensively collaborate with other lab members. Must have excellent organizational, oral, and written scientific communication skills
What We Would Like You to Have
The ideal candidate has experience in rodent behavior and neuroscience laboratory techniques (e.g., brain tissue sectioning and processing, fluorescent imaging, mouse genotyping, stereotaxic surgery, etc). Familiarity with any of the typical techniques of the lab, such as single-unit recordings, calcium imaging and fiber photometry, in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry, viral tract tracing, optogenetics, pharmacogenetics, and mouse behavior (e.g., fear, anxiety, and stress protocols) is desired
