Position Overview
Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge in a wide range of warehouse activities. Initiates and promotes the development of international shipping skills, customer service skills, leadership core competencies, and freight logistics skills. Promotes a positive atmosphere of continuous improvement throughout the international supply chain and warehouse. Handles complex questions involving domestic carriers, freight forwarders, and international processes/procedures. Applies judgment in the best interest of one Hunter Douglas.
What you'll do:
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. (These examples do not include all of the functions which the employee may be expected to perform.)
Prioritizes international shipments based on communication with international customer service and product management department. Ensures correct completion of international documentation. Coordinates the scheduling of carriers.
Works with Logistics Associate to file and resolve freight claims and communicate results with International Customer Service team.
Who you are
An employee in this position, upon appointment, should have the equivalent of the following:
Expert knowledge of all procedures and processes associated with scope of interaction.
Expert knowledge of all computers and programs associated within scope of responsibilities.
Expert knowledge of the concepts, business principles, and practices of physical distribution.
Solid knowledge in the inventory control and warehousing management processes as it applies to warehouse functionality, production/ fabrication applications, functionality and constraints within scope of interaction.
Solid Knowledge and ability to manage written documentation of all procedures and processes associated within scope of responsibility.
Solid knowledge and proven success of various coaching, developmental, motivational, interactive management techniques effectively supporting a team environment that communicates effectively, forms positive relationships internally and externally. Exhibits leadership ability. Assists in the employee performance evaluation process.
Solid knowledge in taking prompt and proper action within authorized scope meeting the cost effectiveness, quality control, performance standards, deadlines, goals, and directives of the department through a proactive approach to the business. Utilizes a root cause analysis approach to problem solving and takes appropriate action.
Ability to improve upon inventory / materials management processes for the business
Solid Ability to communicate both in written and verbal form.
