The Director of Corporate Communications is a leader within the WSFS Marketing team and directs the communications team. The Director of Corporate Communications will develop, deliver and drive strategic communications support that will create compelling content of internal and external audiences. This role will partner throughout the organization to ensure that there is consistent messaging and an aligned and integrated approach to brand, messaging and communications. The incumbent is responsible for all publicity and getting new coverage of Associates, products, events, businesses or pieces of content to the public by cultivating relationships with reporters and other media professionals and evaluating opportunities in and around the WSFS footprint.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise media relations by responding to inquiries from journalists and bloggers, and actively seek out publications for promotional content.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies on a variety of consumer and corporate topics to earn positive media coverage, increase overall brand awareness, and promote the Company's various business lines across regional or national coverage area.
  • Manage external PR agencies and research, vet and pursue media opportunities to effectively position the company and support its business objectives.
  • Oversee media relations functions.
  • Assist with addressing incoming inquires.
  • Monitor relevant media coverage to identify new contracts.
  • Write quality content for the website to support the Bank's digital strategy.
  • Oversee the Company's social meeting strategy to share company news, community events and other related content.
  • Support a variety of high visibility strategic communications projects by partnering with key constituents across the Company to translate their ideas and strategies into compelling communications across a range of media including presentations, speeches, social media, email, video and other mediums.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or related field is required.
  • Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism or advertising agency.
  • Must have previous experience in the financial services industry.
  • Must possess an understanding of banking products and services for retail, commercial, cash management, wealth and other niche businesses.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills are required.
  • Must be skilled in the field of crisis communications.
  • Must have experience managing multiple medium/large projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be an experienced and passionate communications professional, who has a successful track record translating strategic business priorities and company strategy into an integrated and unified communications plan.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, drive forward key initiatives and manage workflow on simultaneous projects.
  • Must possess a Customer-focused, innovative mindset, with digital savvy and experience in message creation and storytelling.
  • Must be a creative and self-motivated individual who works collaboratively in a high performance, team environment.
  • Must possess excellent writing skills, and can interact, influence and communicate effectively.
  • Must understand the complexity of multiple lines of business and speaking to audiences with diverse interests.
