Job Description
- The die setter is responsible for the setup and change over of metal stamping dies to support production.
- Operates the overhead crane to move dies on and off bolsters.
- Connects die to the crane by attaching the chains, hooks, and lifting rings properly.
- Positions dies on bolster in accordance to T-Slot call outs
- Ability to tighten all T-nuts to a safe torque
- Connects all transfer end of arm tooling to transfer rails
- Removes all slugs and scrap from bolster/ bolster tracks and diamond plate.
- Maintains a clean die cart, work place and surrounding area.
- Inspect crane chains, hooks, and lifting rings for any physical defects.
- Must have 2 years of metal stamping die setting experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, daily schedule, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must have hi-lo and crane certifications
