Description

Position Profile:

As a Fixed Dental Lab Technician at Edmonds Dental Prosthetics, you will play a crucial role in the creation of fixed dental prosthetics and restorations. You will be responsible for working with a variety of materials to craft dental crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and other fixed dental appliances. Your attention to detail and technical expertise will ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

Job Duties and Accountabilities:

Dental Technician:Create fixed dental prosthetics, including crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays, using various materials such as ceramics, metals, and composites. Takes dental restorations through the complete process, including fitting, contouring, and micro layering. Utilize CAD/CAM software (such as 3Shape, or similar) to design accurate and aesthetically pleasing dental crowns, bridges, and implant abutments. Prepare dental models and dies from impressions, ensuring precision and accuracy in the reproduction of the patient's oral anatomy. Develop framework designs for crowns and bridges, taking into account the patient's specific needs and the dentist's prescriptions. Choose appropriate materials for each case, considering factors such as durability, esthetics, and biocompatibility. Perform quality control checks at various stages of production to ensure that all products meet the company's quality standards and the dentist's specifications. Maintain detailed records of all cases, including materials used, procedures performed, and completion dates. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring that it is in optimal working condition.

Safety:Works in a safe manner. Complies with safe work practices, at all times. Reports unsafe conditions or situation to supervisor or management. Understands and fully complies with Lock-out/Tag-out procedures for all equipment and machinery. Follows all safety procedures including wearing of all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Teamwork and Collaboration:Actively engages in production and team meetings and provide timely feedback to team regarding work topics. Understands organizational mesh points and potential synergies. Integrates team efforts across work team. Understands available resources and utilizes those resources when appropriate.

Leadership:Acts with integrity. Treats others with dignity and respect. Model behavior that is consistent with Edmonds Dental Prosthetics’ Values. Delivers on commitments and deadlines.

Communication: Effectively communicates with all levels of the organization. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Communicates effectively and professionally to both internal and external parties using appropriate methods and technology. Executes outstanding customer communication and relationship building techniques.

Qualifications


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Fixed Dental Lab Technician or similar role.
  • Proficiency in working with a variety of dental materials, including ceramics, metals, and composites.
  • Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in all work.
  • Ability to interpret dental prescriptions and work independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and infection control.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology is a plus.
  • Relevant certification or degree in dental technology is preferred.

Experience/Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Required to engage with vendors, visitors, colleagues, and the public in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Must have a keen eye for precision.

Physical and Safety Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to safely operate gas powered heating equipment (Bunsen burner) and high-speed rotary tools (bench lathe, hand grinder).
  • Repetitive motion: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, or fingers.
  • Acute visual abilities: Fine visual acuity with the ability to inspect closely or to assemble small parts; color vision; or depth perception and/or field of vision.
  • Finger dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
  • Ability to convey information to various stakeholders with clarity and effectiveness.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
