Job Description Qualifications:

The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Entry Level Software Engineer to join the Connected Systems Software Engineering team located in Everett, WA or Seattle, WA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) business organization.

The selected candidate will be part of a growing team innovating and developing software products that enable new cabin and cargo system features to enhance the customer experience and operational efficiencies for our airline customers . You will collaborate with a group of experienced engineers and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of airborne, ground, and/or cloud hosted software products.

This position may require up to 10% travel.

Position Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams: You will work closely with other software engineers, architects, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, define technical solutions, and ensure successful delivery of the application. You will also analyze and understand the needs of our application users (Airline Customers, Boeing Global Services, Boeing Product Development, Engineering Systems, etc.)
• Implementing best practices and coding standards: You will adhere to industry best practices and coding standards to ensure the application is robust, maintainable, and efficient. You will also contribute to code reviews and provide constructive feedback to your peers. You will a ssist with the documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
• Ensuring security and reliability: You will incorporate security measures and implement robust error handling and fault tolerance mechanisms to ensure the application is secure and reliable.
• Keeping up with emerging technologies: You will stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in cloud computing, microservices architecture, and related technologies. You will actively explore and evaluate new tools and frameworks that can enhance the application's performance and capabilities.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• Experience with software development using Java, C , Python

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Prior internship experience
• Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience with Java Spring Framework and related technologies
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud services
• Experience with microservices
• Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies such as Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Gitlab CI/CD continuous integration and deployment
• Understanding of enterprise-level development practices and coding standards.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
