Position SummaryWe are seeking a motivated Project/Estimating Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on knowledge of refractory materials, design, and applications in high-temperature industrial environments. You will contribute to various projects supporting the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of refractory systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimations: Develop labor estimates for shop and field projects. Perform material take-offs and estimate bills of materials.
- Supplier Coordination: Gather pricing from various suppliers and analyze the information collected.
- Project Management: Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, including planning, budgeting, and logistics.
- Technical Drawings: Create and produce drawings from general verbal instructions, sketches, and diagrams for shop work orders and field installations.
- Site Verification: Travel to customer sites as required for dimensional verification of varying equipment.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with project teams to develop installation plans and procedures for refractory linings.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict safety protocols in both manufacturing and field environments.
- Associate’s degree in Drafting or Engineering Technology.
- 0-5 years of experience in the refractory industry or a relevant high-temperature materials environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.).
- Good understanding of industrial drawings and ability to develop bills of material from them.
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of mathematical and mechanical principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required, with occasional overnight stays.
