In this role, you will provide essential support for Draper's critical IT infrastructure, applications, and core services hosted on RedHat Linux systems. You will ensure continuous and optimized operation and provisioning of IT systems, focusing on product and technology areas like bare metal, cloud and virtualized hosts, base operating system, authentication and authorization, and enterprise-level systems management and monitoring. You will respond to and resolve incidents and alerts, fulfill service and change request tickets, and assist in process improvement, documentation, and automation. This role is on a team approved for partial remote, with the recognition that infrastructure issues may necessitate commuting to Cambridge, MA in advisory cases or to assist in restoration of service.

Responsibilities

Lead multi-threaded projects and cross functional communications across the organization.
• Maintain and improve the computer resources while ensuring server and application compliance with security and performance requirements (DFARS, RMF, NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
• Collaborate daily with Enterprise Linux team members and other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests.
• Own, develop and support IT processes related to deployment, maintenance, monitoring, response, and capacity planning for business-critical systems and infrastructure.
• Identify, document, and lead in the automation of procedures and processes.
• Provide on-call coverage during working hours as part of a rotation, as well as periodic rostered after hours and weekend on-call support.
• Support fast-paced, critical classified programs execution with classified information system capabilities.
• Knowledge of SSSD
• Working knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Ability to commute to Draper's Cambridge, MA headquarters.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
• 3 years' experience in RedHat Linux system administration, supporting production systems and core utility services in a complex enterprise environment.
• 3 years' experience developing scripts and automating tasks with shell and scripting languages like Bash, Perl, Python and Ansible playbooks.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and balance competing priorities like requests, production support incidents, change requests, scheduled maintenance, and project work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
• Demonstrable experience technically leading projects and coordinating the efforts of others in the team.
• Understanding of and professional experience with multiple system administration areas, including operating system, virtualization, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), clusters, storage, monitoring, configuration systems management, high availability, backup, and recovery.
• Working knowledge of RedHat Satellite Server, Flexera License Server, and Ubuntu Linux OS.
• Familiarity with ITSM methodology, including incident and change management.
• Solid ethics and computer security practices (this position will include handling confidential company data).
• Positive approach with customers; ability to cooperate and communicate well within the global team.
• RedHat certifications, especially RedHat Certified Administrator (RHCA).

• Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
