Centrus Global Career Site is Hiring a Production Support Manager Near Piketon, OH

Job Summary: 

The Production Support Manager reports to the Enrichment Operations Plant Manager and functions as the senior manager over site operations support departments such as the following but not limited to: Heath Physics & Industrial Hygiene, Fire Services/Emergency Management, Environmental and Waste, and Training and Procedures. 

The Production Support Manager is responsible for the delivery of technical and professional services in programmatic areas in support of safe, secure, and compliant plant operations under an NRC regulated environment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for compliance with the site NRC Licenses, Federal, and State regulations
  • Provides responsible and accountable leadership to all subordinates to ensure achievement of plant and organizational objectives.
  • Provides technical and administrative direction to management and within Production Support Organization.
  • Plans and establishes the organizations’ management systems and performance measures to monitor, assess, and implement progress.
  • Ensures all individuals within the organization understand appropriate plant administrative procedures relating to their position and level of responsibility and hold employees accountable for compliance.
  • Incumbent has the responsibility and authority to recommend changes in employment status including, but not limited to hiring, discipline, promotion and termination for persons working under their direction.
  • Ensures clear and effective avenues for vertical and horizontal communication are available for members of the organization.
  • Leads the organization in quickly adapting strategies and adjusting resources.
  • Responsible for ensuring employees are free to raise safety concerns without fear of retaliation, intimidation, discrimination, or harassment.
  • Provides support for special projects and maintaining effective communication with the line organizations at all sites, Contractors and Subcontractors, and Federal and State Officials (representing the DOE, NRC, DOT, OSHA, EPA, etc.) on matters related to the Production Support Organization
  • May act as Site Technical Representative for contract support activities.
  • Has authority to stop work and/or shut down operations in any part of the operation for which they are responsible. If such authority is exercised, the Operations Manager must concur with restart of shutdown operations. 
  • Keeps upper management informed of significant scope, cost, or schedule changes concerning assigned departments.
  • In the absence of the absence of the Enrichment Operations Plant Manager, this individual may be delegated the responsibilities of the Enrichment Operations Plant Manager.
  • Coordination between departments and other site entities to include workload management and scheduling
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or the physical sciences, or equivalent technical experience
  • Four years of similar industry experience
  • Four years of management experience, which may be concurrent with the industry experience
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” level security clearance

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in NRC Licensing, corrective actions, training, procedures, workload management/scheduling, and records management; Quality Assurance records; and associated management software

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

This position will require a pre­-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

"This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance. Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made. In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require a preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a DOE security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required."
