Are you a USDA accredited State Board Licensed Veterinarian with one year of practice? The Department of Agriculture is seeking candidates to fill the Veterinary Medical Field Officer at the Meadows Racetrack in Washington County.
This role will involve managing and supervising medical procedures related to thoroughbred and / or standardbred racing activities.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In your role, you will oversee medical procedures related to thoroughbred or standardbred racing. Your responsibilities will include supervising the bleeder medication program and test barn activities, as well as providing regulatory veterinary expertise at racetracks.
Additionally, you will be responsible for administering programs under the Bureau of Animal Health and Diagnostic Services.
This will involve ensuring compliance with laws and regulations mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture in order to effectively monitor and control animal diseases in the region.
Your expertise and supervision will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and safety of animals involved in racing activities.
By upholding regulatory standards and implementing necessary programs, you will contribute to the overall well-being of the animals and the integrity of the racing industry.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements :
One year of farm animal and / or poultry practice experience as a USDA accredited veterinarian.
Special Requirement :
Possession of a license to practice veterinary medicine as issued by a state board of veterinary medical examiners.
