Developmental Pathways, Inc is Hiring a Junior Business Analyst Near Aurora, CO

Developmental Pathways (DP) has an opportunity for a Junior Business Analyst in our Information Technology (IT) Department. This is a 40-hour week hybrid position, working primarily remotely and coming into our office in Aurora, CO, as needed.
Our Junior Business Analyst will get to:
  • Define and articulate business rules required for data accuracy and consistency, document business requirements and create flowcharts
  • Perform more complex business process analysis to determine potential needs and work with internal customers to identify changes or improvements to the functionality and efficiency of these processes
  • Recommend information technology solutions to meet business needs and coordinate the planning, development, and implementation of these solutions
  • Act independently to identify, analyze, propose, and document appropriate solutions for issues that may impact the project, day-to-day operations, and or project costs
  • Assist in the development of standards and create templates for data migration or integration from the current system to new requirements
To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Advanced knowledge of analyzing data and using that analysis to drive key insights and recommendations
  • Project management knowledge, and serve as a liaison between the business and IT to provide technical and business process solutions that meet user needs

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field
    • OR Associates degree and one (1) year related work experience
    • OR two (2) years related technical work experience
  • Ability to work within a variety of computer programs and/or operating systems, such as Windows, Office 365, MS Dynamics, SharePoint, Great Plains, Video Conferencing (Zoom), and numerous hosted and on-premise systems required by various local, State and Federal agencies
  • Experience in creating technical documentation (workflow/process)
  • Experience in creating end-user documentation
  • Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot user requirements
  • Understanding of Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), Data Modeling and data flow diagrams
  • Broad knowledge of adhoc data retrieval and analysis using relational databases, Excel, and other applications. Knowledge of Macro usage and functionality
Preferred
  • Experience with SQL queries for data analysis
  • Experience in business analysis
Additional Responsibilities
  • Responsible for documenting business requirements and reporting them back to stakeholders
  • Work with the technical team to review, analyze and define requirements and recommend viable IT-related solutions
  • Negotiate agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between the business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation
  • Create a detailed business analysis and flowcharts where needed, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for business
  • Understanding of Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), Data Modeling and Data Flow Diagrams
  • Document how information is stored and what rules are applied for storing the information/data
  • Validate solutions and performs Quality Assurance to ensure business requirements are met
  • Support end-user needs and responds to requests in a timely manner
  • Proactively consults with and determines impact to end users when hardware and/or software changes are proposed or going to occur
  • Responsible for defining and developing user stories/use cases/acceptance criteria
  • Build data dictionary/data definition matrix to clearly define data elements and their meaning
  • Ensure vendor performance and contract compliance; independently directs immediate action and compliance of vendors to meet performance metrics and requirements of organization
  • Document and maintain system workflow and processes and create user acceptance testing
  • Make recommendations related to software needs; identifies system approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale
