Lerner Publishing Group is Hiring a Digital Project Coordinator Near Minneapolis, MN

Summary: The Digital Product Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the development and quality assurance of ebooks and audiobooks. The position will also assist with other aspects of the digital production workflow for all digital products for LPG. The Digital Product Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Digital Product Manager or Senior Director of Trafficking to support the delivery and growth of digital product lines that support the company’s digital publishing strategy and goals while also helping to unite workflows across LPG departments.

This position is based out of our downtown Minneapolis headquarters, with the possibility of hybrid.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with internal resources to create PDF, fixed layout epub3, reflowable epub3, kf8, and future ebook formats.

2. Coordinate ebook quality assurance process with the Digital, Premedia, and Editorial teams.

3. Collaborate with internal and external resources to create and QA audiobooks.

4. Coordinate with internal and external resources to create and QA enhanced ebook products.

5. Assist in creation and QA of articles for customer-facing database products.

6. Collaborate with Content Team to implement necessary reprints and distributor fixes in various digital formats.

7. Assist in the production of additional files needed to support Marketing/Sales efforts to promote titles (NetGalley, Edelweiss).

8. Provide R&D support to the Digital Product Manager while evaluating new product offerings, opportunities, and features.

9. Research and identify updates and improvements to support new ebook features and functionality available to our customers.

10. Provide cross-functional support and training with marketing, sales, finance, editorial, and operations.

11. Perform other related business duties assigned by immediate supervisor and/or other management as required.

Experience and Necessary Skills:

1. Experience developing reflowable and fixed layout ePubs, or front-end development.

2. Working knowledge of the ePub3 and kf8 standards.

3. Strong HTML and CSS skills, and familiarity with XML.

4. Familiar with capabilities and limitations of various e-readers and tablets.

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

6. Strong organizational skills, with ability to balance multiple priorities concurrently in a rapidly changing environment.

7. Strong interpersonal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and diplomacy.

8. Self-monitoring and self-direction, with strong project management skills and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as be part of a team, in a multi-media environment.

9. Must be highly detail oriented with the ability to understand complex technical processes and to adapt to new technologies.

10. Proficient in both Mac and PC environments.

11. Familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite – particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat.

12. Familiar with accessibility standards a plus.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience.
