The Emergency Room Nurse Manager will directly report to the Emergency Room Nurse Director. This individual must provide daily updates regarding the status of the emergency department to their superior and will be expected to work together with the Emergency Room Nurse Director to ensure all rules and regulations are being followed. Serving as a direct leader to the Emergency Room Nurse Supervisor, the Emergency Room Nurse Manager must be readily available to provide their assistance and guidance during any pressing and/or critical situation. The Emergency Room Nurse Manager will also serve as a mentor to the Emergency Room Nurses to ensure each patient is being treated with the upmost care.
The Emergency Room Nurse Manager will be expected to manage and provide direct oversight to the emergency department while their team performs various clinical assessments. The Emergency Room Nurse Manager must hold their BSN and ideally have 3-5 years’ experience managing an emergency department and team. Equipped with cutting-edge technology within their emergency department, the Emergency Room Nurse Manager will be required to be well-versed in any and all clinical equipment utilized within their department. This individual will have 24/7 coverage of the emergency department and must be easily accessible to offer their guidance and subject matter expertise. The Emergency Nurse Manager must be regularly informed regarding the care being administered within the emergency department, and must be able to highlight their team’s strengths, and pinpoint any weaknesses and provide the necessary training to address any matter.
