Title: EUC Engineer
Duration: 7 month contract
Location: 100% onsite M-F 8 hours/day - Bloomington, MN
Job Description:
The End User Compute Engineer will play a crucial role in our organization's desktop and mobile computing environment. This position focuses on leveraging modern management tools such as Microsoft Autopilot, Intune, and JAMF to streamline the deployment, management, and security of Windows, macOS, and mobile devices. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, customer service skills, and a deep understanding of traditional and modern computing technologies to support our dynamic workforce.
Must have skills:
• Implement, manage, and monitor the deployment of Windows and macOS devices using Microsoft Autopilot, Intune, and JAMF, ensuring a seamless setup and configuration process for end-users.
• Administer and support end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, ensuring they meet company standards for security and performance.
• Develop and enforce policies for device compliance and management through Intune and JAMF, addressing security risks and ensuring device integrity.
• Provide frontline support for end-user computing issues, offering solutions for hardware, software, and connectivity problems with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Maintain and update device configurations, including software updates, patches, and security settings, using automated tools to ensure up-to-date protection against vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with the IT security team to implement and manage security measures, including endpoint protection, device encryption, and access controls.
• Manage the inventory of hardware and software assets, utilizing Intune and JAMF for accurate tracking and management of organizational resources.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in end-user computing technologies, evaluating new tools and practices for potential adoption.
• Assist in the development and delivery of training sessions for end users, promoting best practices and enabling efficient use of computing resources.
• Experience with scripting languages and API integration is a plus, enabling automation of device management tasks and seamless integration of end-user computing systems with other IT infrastructure.
Nice to have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in end-user computing or desktop support, with specific expertise in managing Windows and macOS environments.
• Proficient in managing and configuring devices using Microsoft Autopilot, Intune, and JAMF.
• Strong understanding of modern desktop management practices, device security principles, and mobile device management (MDM).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide high-quality frontline support.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
• Certifications in Microsoft and Apple technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, JAMF Certified Administrator) are highly desirable.
General Responsibilities:
• Manage and troubleshoot issues with end-user computing devices, including desktops, laptops, and associated software applications.
• Maintain and support a variety of devices such as mobile devices and conference room technology within a predominantly wireless network infrastructure.
• Automate the packaging and deployment of applications and configurations to enhance operational efficiency.
• Participate in the creation and implementation of new device standards, contributing to the entire lifecycle management of end-user computing solutions.
• Ensure continuous updates of asset management, ITSM, and other IT management tools to ensure operational transparency and efficiency.
• Contribute to the governance process by aiding in the creation, adoption, and enforcement of organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures.
• Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned, which may vary based on evolving IT department needs and organizational goals.
