Key Qualifications/Requirements
- Interest in accounting (accounting degree not mandatory as statutory accounting is completely different)
- Accounting or finance degree useful, but not necessary
- Strong Excel skills
- Knowledge of - or interest in - investments and investment reporting (Finance degree not mandatory)
- Strong background in insurance investing, financial statement understanding and NAIC statutory accounting regulations.
- Strong work ethic and great communication skills for client interaction
- Statutory investment accounting for insurance companies
- Working with insurance companies on their investment accounting/reporting
- World-class working environment
- Training on:
- the industry's top investment accounting system (iWorks system by FIS)
- statutory accounting principles
- state insurance regulations
- basic understanding of the Bloomberg system
- general understanding of how insurance accounting and investments impact the actuarial cash testing process
- specific training with unique insurance reserves comprehensive understanding of accounting for Insurance investments
- how investment decisions impact the financial statements of an insurance company.
