Kinder Morgan is Hiring an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER TECHNICIAN Near Snyder, TX
- Provide technical electrical support the CO 2 business unit’s SACROC operational assets
- Lead an electrical motor testing reliability program.
- Demonstrate Safe Behavior
- Ensure proactive, ongoing, high quality customer service is provided to the supported assets
- Technical electrical support to drive reliability and efficiency to asset’s electrical equipment.
- Measure progress, evaluate performance and provide clear reporting against established milestones.
- Provide corrective actions to resolve operational problems and work with location personnel to resolve issues.
- Monitor reliability of equipment and participate in various regular reliability meetings.
- Lead/assist in electrical equipment root cause failure analysis and in the development of standard practices and procedures.
- Assist with start-up and commissioning of new and existing facility equipment (as needed).
- Plant/asset maintenance & outage planning.
- Provide recommendations for equipment selection in new and existing systems
- Analyze and provide recommendations based on electrical equipment testing reports
- Support operations to manage contract electrical equipment testing.
- Analyze, track and trend electrical testing data and make predictions/recommendations based on this data.
- Manage motor testing data
- Technical electrical support on operational issues, i.e. trouble shooting equipment (sometimes off normal work hours)
- SEL Relay Programming review and analysis
- Working with Houston electrical & power engineering team to provide field verification support.
- Experience with motor testing equipment or programs.
- Operational experience in one or more of the following:
- 138KV substations and distribution
- Induction and synchronous motors electrical protection (medium voltage and large horsepower 4000 )
- Oil & gas production facilities
- Production field/plant operations
- Design or configuration or operation of motor switchgear, starters, or protection relays
- SKM and ETAP Power Tools software.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Proactive decision making, strong work ethic, keen sense of requirements to achieve success.
- High competency in leading safety and operational excellence.
- Effective leadership in teaching and executing corporate values and philosophies.
- Deep understanding of individual and team customer service activities.
- Effective leadership, coaching and teambuilding skills.

- Proven analytical and trouble shooting skills on electrical equipment.
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
- Job level and compensation commensurate with experience and skill sets.
- Must be able to work within a team, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and take on additional job responsibilities as needed to serve customer needs.
- Ability to hear communications from others and give input/instructions orally
- Ability to see in order to observe employees, operations, processes, equipment and facilities.
- Field, plant and office environment.
- Working after hours, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call as needed
