Business Controller (Manufacturing)

Key Performance Areas

As a Business Controller you will provide plant management timely and relevant fiscal reports and assist plant with financial data as necessary by interpreting and implementing operating budgets and policies. Maintain cost and inventory control systems within corporate guidelines for the production facility. Provide monthly reporting to corporate finance to include profitability, inventory cost & variance analysis. The business controller will provide financial insight to assist in operational decision making and serve as a business partner to the Production Unit manager. This position is responsible for a manufacturing facility of approximately 80 employees and will report to Production Unit Manager.

Additional Responsibilities

• financial/accounting policies and implementing policies by creating operating processes/practices
• data to provide financial reports on plant profitability, inventory and manufacturing cost including variances to plan
• monthly analysis of plant performance, variances, and drive action plans to improve
• control systems which track sales, cost of goods sold, manufacturing cost, work in process, inventory, fixed assets, and capital expenditures
• systems; including analysis of exceptions, general ledger entries, production cost and reconciliations
• for analyzing and reconciling inventory in transit, variances to purchase prices and manufacturing expenses. Will provide valuation of inventory, utilizing control and audit of standard cost, cycle counts and inventory adjustments
• for assisting plant management with preparation of capital appropriation request and the annual plant financial budget as well as quarterly forecasts. Analyze and prepare reports on sales, product orders, plant results and inventory
• travel may be required

Your profile

You will possess a BA/BS degree in Finance/Accounting Degree and 5 years of work experience in Manufacturing Industry.

The Business Controller should also possess:

• working experience utilizing various applications with Office 365
• with ERP (SAP or Epicor)
• analytical and problem-solving skills
• savvy and process-oriented way of thinking
• attention to detail
• business acumen
