We are looking for an Early Intervention Special Instructor in the Temecula area.
Carousel Developmental Service is an Early Intervention/Infant Development Program that works with infants and toddlers with special needs or at risk of developing a delay.
Responsibilities include:
Writing observation notes and creating goals
Providing parents/caregivers a home action plan based on child's goals
Understand how to build infant toddler skills in an everyday context
Understand adult learning principles and provide parent coaching and problem solving.
This position is full-time 40 hrs a week.
Competencies
Adaptability: understand, evaluate, and apply different learning methods and techniques to diverse populations. Observe and shift priorities when necessary
Planning and organizing: coordinate with families schedule for visits, be able to research, develop, and implement client developmental play plan, and routine based parent coaching. Be able to write descriptive narratives regarding Childs progress in meeting developmental milestones.
Decision making: identifies opportunities and problems, proactively provide solutions, gathers relevant information to complete an accurate analysis parent-child interactions, integrates child development best practices into practical everyday learning opportunities.
Understanding child development: knowledge and application of typical child development theories and milestones in every domain, understand infants and toddlers with special needs or at risk of developmental delay and how to mitigate adverse systems. Know common disabilities such as ASD, Cerebral Palsy, Prematurity, genetic disorders
Relationship-Building: Be able to communicate and engage families of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. Apply strength based family approaches to service delivery, integrate family priorities and values into coaching and teaching methods.
Work Experience:
Must be comfortable being in-home and working with children with special needs
Must be comfortable driving, have reliable transportation
1-2 year with working infants and toddlers or Preschool children
Education:
B.A. in Child Development, Psychology, Sociology, Human Development, Communicative Disorders
Must have updated TB Test, First Aid/CPR, Insurance,
English speaking and Bilingual encourage to apply
