The Director of Coaching is responsible for building supportive relationships with coaching staff through 1:1 training, evaluating and developing, while maintaining a positive company culture. This person is highly organized, flexible, caring, patient, positive and committed to helping people reach their potential. The Director of Coaching assumes a team captain" position in which they are thought of as a role model for new and experienced coaches. The Director of Coaching is a Full Time Role requiring at least 40 hours every week with season start weeks requiring between 40-50 hours. The position is designed for someone who will be coaching and training at our partner locations all over the DuPage County Area. Responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:
Coach Management
Responsible to Lead, Manage and Hold Accountable a Coaching Staff of 10-25 Coaches.
Assuring we have remarkable coaches at all locations we serve
Lead Pre-Season & In-Season Coaches Meetings, and Team Events
Seasonal Scheduling; Assigning staff to fill all locations
Coach Recruitment Process; Conducting interviews, hiring and training
Keep coaches accountable to program and brand standards
Collaborate with Soccer Shots directors regarding season planning and improvement of program quality
Coaching Responsibilities The Director of Coaching will coach up to 12 sessions a week depending on the need and also assist with the overall quality of our coaching team. Recruiting Events The DOC will be responsible for identifying and staffing recruiting events to attract new coaches. The DOC will represent our fun environment by being upbeat, positive and informative at these events. These events sometimes will require the DOC do adjust hours to attend
Recruiting events at local Universities and Colleges.
Physical/work environment requirements: Work requires ability to sit, stand and walk throughout an extended work day (8 10 hours); position requires use of fingers, hands and arms on a consistent basis for keyboarding and phone work; position may need to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion; excellent vision skills (with or without correction) are required. The standard office environment has moderate noise levels associated with computer equipment, customers and phone conversations. Position may occasionally have the need to be exposed to an inside/outside sports environment. Work requires ability to run, stop, stoop, bend (a physical, exercise type regimen) in a minimum of 40-minute increments per session. Moderate gymnasium like noises is associated with this position.
Work Schedule The expected working hours are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday Hours (9:00a.m.-5:00p.m.). In addition, start weeks, make-up dates, special events, etc., are times when flexible hours are needed. Work Location This is a mostly remote position, with home office space suggested, and 5-10 in person office hours required, in addition to being on the field at partner locations. All directors and coordinators typically work from the Soccer Shots office space in Woodridge, IL on Tuesdays. Classification This is a full-time and salaried position. Minimum of 40 hours a week is required, with additional hours sometimes needed to meet deadlines and goals. Key Performance Measures
Prompt, reliable, and professional communication. Responds immediately to coaches, customers (parents, program partners), supervisor, and other support staff within 24 hours.
Meets weekly, seasonal, and annual timelines and deadlines. Develops and follows systems to stay organized, keep good records, and be efficient with time.
Meets quarterly performance goals (ROCKS). Goes above and beyond expectations to promote the Soccer Shots brand.
Adheres to all company policies and represents Soccer Shots with professionalism and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree An understanding of early childhood development and milestones Previous experience with the sport of soccer Experience with Google suite In addition to the above, a successful candidate must pass a DCFS Clearance and Background Check.
