As part of the Hilco Vision Team the category advisor is a resource working directly with Walmart to provide in-depth analysis to determine category strategy and opportunities. The successful candidate will assist the Walmart buyer in the execution of category and brand growth stories, review, shelving, and modular plans for the Optical Business. This position would require you to attend planning meetings at the Walmart Layout Center with the Walmart buying teams to help set Modulars for line reviews/walk throughs.

As an employee of Hilco Vision the category advisor will work closely with both the category management team at Walmart on a day-to-day basis as well as the Hilco account management team.

The primary focus of this position is to create in-store strategies through data insights that improve the performance of the category at Walmart, and in turn drive strong Hilco Vision performance within the category.

Qualifications

• Analyzing/interpreting data and turning insights into action
• 5 years of experience in customer-facing Category Management
• Experience using multiple sources such as primary and secondary research.
• Minimum of 5 years professional work experience in category management, merchandising or retail analytics
• Preferably 5 years of experience of analyzing big data and market forecast using Excel, Access, SQL a plus
• Strong knowledge of JDA software utilizing data tables and fixtures
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field
