Job Title: Policy Governance Analyst
Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)
Job Description:
The Policy Analyst is a primary contributor to Governance and Risk Program, assisting with the development, review, and maintenance of organizational policies, frameworks, methodologies, programs and processes. The Policy Analyst partners with business-unit process/risk owners and experts to ensure controls are in place and effective to ensure practices align with organization’s risk appetite.
Responsibilities:
Establish, update and maintain enterprise policies and practices aligned with regulatory requirements and security/risk frameworks, and commensurate with the organization’s size and complexity.
Ensure that developed policies, standards, and procedures reflect applicable regulatory requirements and supervisory guidance.
Engage and collaborate with senior leaders, key stakeholders, and individuals across the businesses and functions on policy development, review, and implementation
This role partners with business units, Legal, Compliance, and other risk teams to understand processes and products.
They will use analytical skills to research and apply frameworks to these processes and products.
They will take all of the information gathered and produce policies to manage the risk exposure created by these processes and products.
They will provide guidance to the business units on how to implement these policies.
Schedule:
Hybrid – in the office two or more days a week. Two required but if someone prefers working in the office they are welcome to full-time.
Candidate experience must haves:
Excellent analytical skills
Exceptional writing skills
Demonstrated experience in business or technical writing, including creation and implementation of formal policy and procedure documentation
Ability to independently research, interpret, and apply regulatory requirements and industry-standard best practices to technical and business practices.
Standout candidates will have:
Risk Management Certification
Risk Management experience in a financial institutions setting or regulatory agency (e.g. NCUA, FDIC, OCC, FRB)
Demonstrated experience in business or technical writing, including creation and implementation of formal policy and procedure documentation is critical
