POSITION AVAILABLE: Health Equity Coordinator
OVERVIEW OF POSITION: The Health Equity Coordinator works across the state focusing on increasing violence prevention education and programming. The Health Equity Coordinator works with community partners to address barriers and identify gaps in health equity and economic justice. They lead the Health Equity Workgroup to promote collaboration and partnerships to address social determinants of health in diverse communities. The Health Equity Coordinator develops and oversees a strategic plan for meeting grant identified objectives and goals
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Coordinate an internal action plan to build prevention programming capacity of the organization;
· Maintain partnership and collaboration with the State Health Department enhance and carry out State Action Plan for violence prevention;
· Lead and organize the Statewide Health Equity Workgroup;
· Coordinate statewide and community specific prevention programming guided by best-practices;
· Lead organization through grant specific evaluation activities;
· Work with schools to adopt Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) to create protective environments in schools;
· Oversee data collection initiates to highlight health and economic inequities within populations with disproportionately high violence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required skills, knowledge and ability:
Education and Experience:
· 4 years’ equivalent prior experience as a volunteer / intern orstaff in an office environment, or
· BA degree in Social Work, Public Administration or related humanities field, or
· Combination of lived experience and either volunteer / advocacy experience in a domestic or sexual violence program or education in a human services related field, or
· Combination of volunteer / advocacy experience in a domestic or sexual violence program and education in a human services related field.
· Experience with non-profits and grant management preferred
SALARY/HOURS: Full Time
$58,000 - $60,000 per year to start.
