Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Data Center Technician to join our team. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting data center equipment and systems. Your expertise in fiber splicing, telecommunication, and equipment repair will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our data center.
Duties:
- Monitor, configure, and maintain data center equipment and systems
- Perform fiber splicing and termination to ensure reliable network connectivity
- Troubleshoot network issues and perform necessary repairs
- Monitor data center infrastructure and respond to alerts or incidents
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on equipment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network upgrades or expansions
- Assist with physical security measures such as CCTV installation and monitoring
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and changes
- Provide field service support as needed
Skills:
- 5 years experience as operator in a data center
- knowledge of service management software (ServiceNow experience is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of telecommunication technologies and Ethernet protocols
- Proficiency in using hand tools for equipment installation and repair
- Experience working with Cisco routers and Avaya phone systems
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and their installation
- Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team
