Job SummaryThe Oncology Financial Navigator plays a crucial role within the cancer center by providing comprehensive financial guidance and support to patients through the cancer care continuium. This role bridges the gap between patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and financial resources, ensuring that patients receive optimal care reducing the risk of financial burden. The Oncology Financial Navigator assesses and addresses financial barriers related to the patients cancer care in collaboration with internal and external key stakeholders across the organization.

Hours: 8 -4pm variable
Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.
  • Has the ability to work independently. Must possess strong interpersonal, effective communication and creative problem solving skills.
  • Must have extended knowledge base of payer and billing requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and resourceful.
  • Must be able to work effectively in multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Education Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of healthcare customer service and medical insurance experience.
License/Certification/Registry
  • Training/Certification: ACS LION certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
