Skill
1. General: Read, Write, Basic Math, comprehends and follows procedures.
2. Department Specific:
a. Ability to de-burr wheels using right hand.
b. Ability to identify both functional and cosmetic defects.
c. Ability to differentiate between wheel types.
d. Ability to palletize wheels.
e. Ability to make pallet tags.
f. Ability to learn and rotate to several jobs as required. (de-burring, conveyor loading, palletizing, etc.).
Responsibility
1. Learning skills: Gain and demonstrate knowledge and ability of above skills within qualifying period.
2. Safety: Responsible for PPE, 5S, reporting potential safety issues, reporting accidents, and following specific safety procedures. Also, using proper lifting technique.
3. Quality: Check every wheel for obvious defects and damage.
4. Output: Meet established targets for each shift and work a reasonable amount of overtime when required.
5. Cost Control: Avoid excessive use of gloves, foam retention, 5S supplies, etc.
6. Teamwork/Communications: Work together to achieve overall First Time Through, Yield, Goals, etc. Assist in training new Associates and participation in A4S programs highly encouraged. Communicate any issues to First Line Supervisor as they occur.
7. Attendance: Demonstrate excellent attendance.
8. Rotate to and perform several jobs as required. (de-burring, conveyor loading, palletizing, etc.)
9. Perform other duties as assigned by the department First Line Supervisor, department Supervisor and/or Superintendent.
Effort
1. Handle approximately 2000 wheels per shift (de-burr 500, palletize 750, load 750)
a. Wheel weights range from 13 to 40 lbs. and average 26.5 lbs.
b. Pick-up wheels and palletize/de-palletize from approximately 20”~51” height.
2. Constant standing and bending and frequent pushing, pulling or turning while moving wheels and dividers.
3. Constant gripping, wrist and arm movements for up to six hours per shift.
Environment
1. Tolerate temperature of up to 90 degrees during summer months (June-Aug).
2. Work near cutting fluid and mist.
3. Stand on padded concrete floors.
Hours
2nd shift - 3:50 pm - 12:00 am, Sunday - Thursday
