DEFINITION :
The purpose of this job/class within the organization is to conduct technical work for conformance with the city of Deltona's zoning code, land development code, and other applicable city codes and ordinances.
This job/class works under close supervision according to set procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Not all-inclusive) :
Assists in the approval of building permit applications through review of site plans and building plans for zoning compliance; reviews and processes flood zone requests (if applicable). Provides customer service, assistance, and information to the public about zoning criteria. Calculate non-residential impact fees. Assist planners with zoning reviews related to land development applications. Process zoning verification letter requests. Prepares zoning reports for the department, City Manager, and other departments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to the completion of one year of college in municipal planning, zoning, permit processing, or a closely related field. Requires two years of experience in municipal planning and permit review or closely related experience.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS :
Requires a driver's license valid in the State of Florida.
