Job Summary & Scope:

As an IT Product Owner, you will be at the helm of software development and modernization initiatives, driving the vision and execution of projects that enhance our technological capabilities. Your role will be crucial in translating business needs into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with company goals and delivering value through cutting-edge software developments.


Responsibilities:

  • Define and prioritize product backlog items based on business and customer impact, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements and expectations.
  • Lead the planning of product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities.
  • Take an active role in mitigation of impediments impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals.
  • Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project, ensuring clear communication and organization.
  • Monitor the performance of the existing systems and propose necessary upgrades or modifications.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products within specified timelines and budgets.
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value aligned with product strategy.
  • Participate in the agile development process, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, maintaining direct communication pathways across all areas of the team and stakeholders.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and competitor strategies to incorporate into the product vision where beneficial.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in software development projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile principles and processes, with experience in Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and recommendations.


Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with modern software architectures and API-driven development.
  • Certification as a Scrum Product Owner or equivalent.
