Job Description: Care Team Member
Status: Minimum 30 hours (part time) up to 40 hours (full time). Range: $25-$40/hour
Reports to: Care Director
Personal Character: The Care Team Member should be a consistent student of the Bible, maintain personal devotions, and work continually to develop spiritual and leadership abilities. They should be a self-starter and work joyfully and efficiently to accomplish all that is required in this weighty role. They should be in hearty agreement with the Grace Road Church Elders’ affirmation of faith, including the positions on elder leadership, complementarian design, and reformed theology. They should be able to articulate the truths of the faith well, and have a missional mindset to develop a community of Christ followers on mission to spread a passion for Jesus.
Purpose Statement/General Description:
The Care Team Member supports the vision of Grace Road Church (Gospel, Community, Mission) through serving, caring, and ministering to the needs of our church and community.
Key Ministry Responsibilities:
Care: Provide best practices of care to members, attendees, and staff at Grace Road Church through individual meetings, co-leading and development of Care Groups utilizing volunteers, developing plans for complex situations, and partnering with multiple ministries for consistent, cohesive, and collaborative care.
Communication: Collaborate with multiple ministries to provide consistent communication, training, and execute care within the church body
Community: Build connections within the community for care, counseling, and social services and appropriately connect to outside resources when necessary and relevant
Groups: Co-lead the development and execution of Care Groups (curriculum-based, closed groups), including recruiting, developing, and supporting volunteers and leaders of Care Groups
Safety: Collaborate with care ministry leaders and necessary ministry leads to ensure confidentiality, safety, and care of vulnerable parties in abusive and destructive relationships
Train: Lead and participate in trainings for staff and volunteers
Qualifications
- Caregiving experience
- First aid certification
- Assisted living or nursing home experience
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities and Alzheimer's
- Proficient in assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Familiarity with vital signs monitoring
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with seniors and residents
- Knowledge of residents' rights and person-centered care practices
