Immigration Law Firm is Hiring an Immigration Paralegal Near Stamford, CT

BILINGUAL Immigration Paralegal - FLUENT IN SPANISH
Busy Immigration firm is looking for a paralegal to join our Stamford office. This position will be a temp position with the possibility of becoming permanent.

As part of our team, the paralegal’s role is to ensure timely and successful completion of all immigration cases for our clients. The candidate must be fluent in spoken Spanish and English. Written bilingual ability preferred. Potential for growth exists for this position as our needs change.

He/She must be detail-oriented, able to take initiative, able to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated, growth-oriented, and a results-driven team player who strives to provide professional service.

Legal Duties: Legal duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Organizing office files, scanning and/or copying client documents, filing client documents, documenting firm-client communication (phone, mail, and email) using firm case software
  • Prepare case filings with United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS); Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE); National Visa Center (NVC) and Consular Offices overseas
  • Prepare motion, status docket updates, call-call updates, and case applications with the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR)
  • Prepare court appearances, court filings, and any other documents necessary for the attorney court appearance
  • Provide coordination between firm clients and attorneys to ensure timely compliance with client evidence gathering
  • Provide support for the attorneys in our office

Administrative Duties: Include but are not limited to:

  • Must be able to problem-solve and prioritize work
  • Communicate via mail, email, and telephone with various courts and Immigration agencies
  • Communicate with clients to explain the immigration process and requirements
  • Collect relevant information and documents in support of applications
  • Fill out applications accurately and review for any errors
  • Manage and meet client and task deadlines
  • Provide detailed notes in-office case management system
  • Translate documents as needed
  • Provide assistance and contribute ideas to further grow and develop our team

Requirements: Fluency in English and Spanish with strong communication and writing skills. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook, internet proficient. Immigration law and/or law office experience and experience with Case Management Software is a plus, but not required.
