Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Golf, this position assists guests with the proper, timely play of golf for Barnsley Resort.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests, offer assistance, and provide unreasonable hospitality in the arrival and departure experience expected to provide outstanding courteous customer service to all members and resort guests.

• Collect and record receipts for golfers.
• Promptly start players on time according to schedule tee times.
• Operate golf cart and ride golf course to maintain the proper speed of play throughout the day.
• Assist in preparing outside operations for the day’s play.
• Finalize daily reports and submit them to the Director of Golf in a timely manner.
• Assist the golf shop with any tournaments, outings, and other activities, as needed. Support the Golf Pro with events and promotions.

• Report guest issues to the golf pro or appropriate manager to ensure maximum guest satisfaction.

• Adhere to all standards of operation.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Duties may take place indoors and out of doors and in the elements. Calls are frequent, work is fast paced and the noise level is moderate to loud. Duties require:

• Long periods of standing, hearing, speaking,
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, cold, sun & heat)
• Must be able to stand & walk throughout the day, including on uneven surfaces
• Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull & carry up to 20-40lbs.
• Must be able to bend, squat and twist on an occasional basis
• Must have normal vision (corrected) including close and color vision, hearing and verbal communication

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Licensure/Certifications: Any positions involving operating guest or company vehicles, or the transportation of guests or employees require a valid Georgia drives license and a safe driving MVR record.
• Availability: Must be available to work both day and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
