Hudson Cannabis | Extraction Lab Technician

Reports to Extraction Lab Manager

The extraction technician works independently to extract crude oil from cannabis biomass using a CUP 15 and crude oil to distillate using the VTA short path distillation system. The Extraction Technician will oversee a variety of order processing functions, ranging from monitoring inventories to labeling products.

What does the day to day of this position look like?

75% - Crude and distillate extraction

15% - Sanitizing and prep

10% - Reporting and Documentation

Responsibilities

• Monitors inventory of raw materials, components, and supplies used in extraction
• Prepare workspace, equipment, and materials daily.
• Maintain high tech lab process equipment and ensure such machinery operates in a clean organized environment.
• Assist the Extraction Lab Manager in the operation and maintenance of Cryo-ethanol Extraction Equipment and VTA Wiped Film Short Path Distillation machine.
• Perform regular maintenance, cleaning, and repairs of all equipment
• Perform some administrative tasks, such as documenting all machine maintenance, making equipment orders, and improving or developing safety guidelines for equipment use.
• Verifies that the products are correctly labeled
• Follows strict guidelines of good manufacturing practices using written standard operating procedures
• Cleaning used areas as defined by Protocol
• Operate warehouse equipment, including carts, dollies, hand trucks, forklifts, and other moving equipment to move large quantities of merchandise.
• Demonstrate care in procedures and support a friendly and safety-centered environment.
• Complete all reporting requirements regarding tasks performed
• Communicates with team members on production statuses
• Complete any other tasks as directed by supervisors
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 1 year experience with cannabis processing and extraction related production
• Strong knowledge and appreciation for cannabis concentrates
• Process, SOP and training experience
• A strong desire for research and development
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. safely and consistently
• Reliable means of transportation on a daily basis
• Ability to tolerate cannabis dust, and adherence to mandatory PPE requirements (face masks, ventilators, work gloves, sleeve protectors)
• Must be over the age of 21

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Job Type: 40 hours per week, M-F, occasional weekend and overtime.

This is an 11am -7pm shift.

Pay: $22 per hour
