Job Description: Manufacturing Operator (Granulation, Blending, Compression, Coating, and Encapsulation)
Location: Central Islip/Hauppauge, NY Facilities, New York
Shift Availability:

1st Shift (07:00 am - 03:30 pm)

2nd Shift (03:00 pm - 11:30 pm)

• Granulation, Blending- 12 positions
• Compression - 7 Positions
• Encapsulation - 5 Positions

Job Summary:
This position is a Production Operator role assigned to support the coating process in pharmaceutical manufacturing. As an hourly laborer and individual contributor, you will report to a Front-Line Supervisor and be based at the Company’s manufacturing units in Hauppauge or Central Islip, New York. Candidates must indicate their preferred shift.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate pharmaceutical production machinery independently.
• Execute manufacturing procedures in accordance with batch manufacturing record (BMR) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Perform machine changeovers, cleaning, and setup as per SOPs, ensuring proper area and equipment cleanliness and setup within the stipulated time.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for line clearance, replace room filters, verify and calibrate balances/scales, and check pressure differentials for rooms.
• Ensure line clearance before initiating manufacturing activities in each area.
• Receive and transfer materials from/to dispensing/manufacturing storage and check dispensed materials/final mix blend/compressed tablets and labeling as per BMR.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as stated in SOP/BMR before initiating the process.
• Operate applicable equipment independently in the assigned area of operation.
• Troubleshoot and make appropriate adjustments to equipment to maintain product/BMR specifications.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards during all stages of the manufacturing process.
• Complete manufacturing documents on time, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant SOPs and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in the manufacturing process.
• Perform duties safely using equipment according to Health & Safety procedures and Equipment Manuals.
• Be flexible to work extended hours to meet manufacturing schedules when needed.
• Maintain discipline and comply with company policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as communicated by department management/designee.

Minimum Requirements:

• Solid mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in industrial environments, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate in English (verbally and in writing).
• Positive, professional attitude and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors.
• Ability to work different shifts as required, including overtime and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work with powder containing active pharmaceutical ingredients without restriction.
• Capable of heavy lifting and bending frequently.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods, ascend/descend ladders, and lift up to 35 pounds.
• Able to move pallets/equipment weighing 200-300 kgs using suitable moving equipment like pallet jacks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of coating experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit.
• Experience in nutraceuticals, oral solid dosage, or food manufacturing environments is a plus.
