Position Overview: As a Sourcing Lead at Polaris Inc., you'll play a critical role in shaping and executing sourcing strategies for our cutting-edge Ride Command and Infotainment products. Your expertise will ensure that our suppliers meet the highest standards in delivery, quality, new product integration, and cost competitiveness. You'll be a key leader at our Battle Ground, WA site, driving success in central operations and supporting our broader organizational goals. Key Responsibilities: Develop and align sourcing strategies for assigned categories with the broader organizational sourcing strategy. Manage and establish new supplier relationships, ensuring effective communication and alignment. Lead the request for proposal and quote processes for new parts and revisions, proposing supplier selections based on defined commodity strategies. Identify and implement cost reduction projects, supplier exits, and tool transitions. Oversee cost, schedule, technical, and drawing release status of projects, leading corrective actions as needed. Execute a multi-year vision for the commodity, incorporating input from internal customers, purchasing goals, risk assessments, and growth plans. Establish individual supplier cost reduction approaches and targets, working closely with suppliers to achieve these goals. Utilize fact-based negotiation, should-cost modeling, and competitive market analysis to drive cost reduction initiatives. Establish contractual commitments for long-term cost savings to meet departmental goals. Support supplier quality functions in determining root causes and implementing countermeasures for quality issues. Monitor and drive supplier performance to meet Polaris quality and delivery requirements. Manage supplier capabilities, lead-times, and capacity to ensure timely delivery of components for production schedules. Support part shortages and delivery needs as necessary. Conduct make vs. buy analysis, preparing and soliciting requests for quotes and proposals. Coordinate resources and schedules across multiple departments to support vehicle development, launch, production, and ongoing production support. Desired Competencies: Strategic Thinking: You excel at developing long-term strategies that align with broader organizational goals and effectively manage supplier relationships. Negotiation Skills: You are adept at negotiating favorable terms and driving cost reduction initiatives through fact-based approaches and market analysis. Project Management: You are highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines, and skilled at coordinating resources across various departments. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a technical area. APICS CPIM and/or ISM C.P.M./A.P.P. certification desired. 4 years of experience in purchasing or relevant fields. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Strong negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both within the team and cross-functionally. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Professionalism in developing productive working relationships with suppliers. Capability to read and interpret engineering documentation and technical data. Fundamental knowledge of MAPICS MRP and web-based business systems desired. Proficiency in presentation skills, including PowerPoint development and presenting to leadership. Knowledge of project management tools and the ability to assist in tasks assigned by Project Managers. The base salary range for Washington is $84,150 to $99,000.
