CAA is currently interviewing for a full-time Building Permit Technician to work in South Orange County, CA.

The Building Permit Technician will work in the Building and Safety department to serve developers, contractors, homeowners, and other members of the public with permitting services.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Serving the public by greeting them with exceptional customer service and if necessary, referring them to the appropriate staff member or assisting them with any questions they may have pertaining to the permit process.
• Maintaining and updating building permit applications, logging in plan checks received by the Building Inspection Division.
• Various administrative duties such as answering phones, writing correspondence, filing and responding to email inquires promptly
• Accounting duties such as reporting, billing, and accounts receivable tasks
• Minor Plan checking and issuance of permits
• Processing certificate of occupancies
• Processing Bonds and yearly forfeitures for finance

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 4 years of clerical/administrative experience involving public contact
• Energov experience a plus
• Stable work history
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Extensive computer background
• A minimum typing speed of 50 wpm
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Construction industry experience preferred but not required.
