TECHNICAL SERVICE ENGINEER

This role is pivotal in providing exceptional technical service support to both our USA customers and USA Sales team, ensuring the seamless integration of Premix products into customer processes. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert in polymers, possessing a unique blend of technical process and commercial acumen, coupled with a strong commitment to customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist customers with their injection molding, extrusion molding, vacuum forming, and/or wire extrusion lines, providing technical assistance and training utilizing our materials.
• Investigate and resolve internal and external quality problems, claims, and other issues.
• Oversee any validation process trials and ensure that they are streamlined and efficient.
• Engage in the claim handling process, addressing customer concerns regarding product performance or quality with a focus on long-term manufacturing excellence.
• Collaborate with the Sales Team to ensure customer needs are met and streamline processes for long-term business partnerships.
• Work closely with internal teams to optimize processes and troubleshoot technical issues within the Premix production facility.
• Contribute to technology road-mapping and optimize testing using statistical software and DOE methodology.
• Support the North Carolina manufacturing plant with process improvement initiatives and activities aimed at operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Lead and manage development projects for value-added products and applications in collaboration with teams in the USA and Finland.
• Develop and update Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) and Technical Data Sheets (TDSs) tailored for the USA market.
• Travel up to 50% of the time to support customer trials and troubleshoot issues on-site.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science degree or related industry experience in polymers, or a related discipline with a focus on polymers (min. 5 years).
• A solid understanding of polymers (PP, PE) and proficiency in processing techniques such as injection molding and extrusion.
• Demonstrated hands-on technical problem-solving abilities and familiarity with polymer compounding and formulation development.
•  Proven ability to build trust with both customers and colleagues.
• Knowledge of polymer material properties and their applications.
• Experience with polymer testing and characterization methods.
• Familiarity with polymer processing software and simulation tools.
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with other engineers, scientists, and technicians.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Continuous learning and staying up to date with the latest polymer processing technologies and industry trends.
• Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
• Valid driver's license and valid United States passport for (global) travelling.
