Responsibilities
Reports to: Owner
Business Planning & Forecasting

• Participate in the development and implementation of operational procedures and strategic initiatives.
• Create forecasts and buying plans to maintain strategic inventory levels that support growth objectives and control inventory costs.
• In coordination with Footwear Category Manager, view footwear lines from vendors and complete futures orders based on historical sales forecasts and projections. Maintain strategic inventory levels by managing the inventory purchasing process:
• Place and manage "futures" orders for all inventory categories. Ensure incoming orders are adjusted as appropriate.
• Place and manage "at once" inventory purchases throughout the season to maintain targeted inventory levels.
• Maintain a calendar and organized system of tracking incoming orders.

Inventory Management and Data Analysis

• Assist category managers to ensure business growth, profitability and effective cash management.
• Support category managers with forecast generation, sell-through and inventory reporting.
• Participate with buyers and managers to ensure inventory and reporting accuracy - inventory stocking plans, backstock maintenance, SKU audits and cycle counts.
• Regular SKU, Vendor and Category Analysis to support Retail Experience Team and Category Managers.

Accounting and Financial Responsibilities

• Participate in the development and implementation of annual strategic and operating plans.
• Oversight of inventory management and bookkeeping functions. Oversee reconciliations and resolve/research discrepancies.
• Participate in the accounts payable and payroll processes. Assume responsibility for these functions as needed.
• Budget development and tracking; provide regular financial reporting to owners

Qualifications

• Available to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
• Professional and timely internal and external communication
• Strong mathematical skills
• Process-driven and detail-oriented
• Able to work effectively in a cloud-based inventory management system
• Has a basic understanding of retail buying principles and best practices
• Strong communication skills and able to work within and manage a team
• Self-driven, comfortable making decisions and standing by them
• Has a basic understanding of inventory management
• Can follow a budget
• Support all Fleet Feet initiatives, activities, and functions
