Having launched its programs in 2021, The Arlee Rehabilitation Center (ARC) has very quickly grown into one of the most exciting new nonprofits in western Montana.ARC recently ranked #1 among 208 participating nonprofits in the number of unique Missoula Gives donors (310) during an annual community-wide fundraising campaign.ARC ranked 9^th in total dollars raised ($30,810).ARC currently has over 5,600 Facebook followers.The organization's grant seeking has been meagre due to limited staff, but the success rate has been phenomenal.

The inherent beauty and power of ARC's mission resonates with anyone who cares about Indigenous rights, children, trauma healing, animal welfare, and more.The chosen candidate will be primed for success at an exciting time when ARC is embarking on a transition to scale up its capacity, deepen its impact, and broaden its relationships.Having recently added prominent community leaders to its Board, ARC is moving into a more professional phase of its growth and mission.

Consequently, this PT position is envisioned as a stepping stone to a FT permanent Development Director role, with significant advancement and leadership opportunity for a successful candidate.ARC's Development Assistant will be entering an innovative, mission-driven, young organization at an exciting moment of dynamic growth and opportunity.We are excited to bring you along for the journey!

WHO WE ARE

ARC is a unique trauma healing project serving the Flathead Indian Reservation. We harness the power of animals to heal vulnerable people struggling with suicide risk, domestic abuse, and trauma.We couple this with rehabilitation and healing for Reservation dogs affected by community trauma.

ARC offers 3 main programs.

Our Reservation Canine Healing Experiment (RCHE) brings animals and people together to build resiliency and heal trauma.

ARC's Paws on the Ground (POG) grassroots organizing program recruits Tribal community liaisons and volunteers to build trust and crisis response capacity for animals and pet-owners within trauma-impacted Reservation communities.

Our Flathead Reservation Spay/Neuter Taskforce carries out Trap & Release efforts and Spay/Neuter Clinics while offering additional low-income veterinary support.

THE DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT'S DUTIES SHALL INCLUDE:

* Grant research and grant writing

* Event planning and organizing

* Community outreach and donor development

* Research and data tracking

* Social media growth

* Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

REQUIREMENTS

* Proven success in acquiring grants

* Experience in grants research

* 2-3 years of nonprofit fundraising experience

PREFERRED

* 5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience

* Proven success in acquiring grants >$20,000

* Events organizing experience

* Social media wizardry

* Experience with capital campaigns, planned giving, and/or large donor cultivation

QUALIFICATIONS

ARC's Development Assistant shall:

* display strong oral and written communications skills

* have a strong desire to work with people to benefit communities

* exhibit sensitivity to Tribal culture and present issues facing Western Montana's Tribal communities

* be self-driven and provide creative initiative

* be self-disciplined and show capacity to focus and work efficiently

* have a desire to learn and challenge themselves!
