**Job Description**

AECOM is searching for a talented and experienced Environmental Scientist experienced in transportation related environmental construction inspection/management and erosion and sediment control installation and inspection. This position will reside at the project site in Montgomery and Prince Georges County and will report to the AECOM Hunt Valley office.

The Environmental Scientist will be responsible for quality oversight on behalf of the owner for a portion of a mass transit project that includes light rail, bridge, culvert, storm drain, and roadway construction.

**Responsibilities**

Reviewing quality control work expectancy schedules

Scheduling and assigning inspector work assignments for construction oversight

Reviewing and approving inspector daily reports

Provide weekly construction update reports to the owner

Conduct third party coordination with stakeholders throughout the project alignment and ensuring contractors meet all commitments required by the contract agreements

Review contractor pay applications and negotiate quantities

Review change order requests for validity

Conduct site inspections for compliance with approved contract documents.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum:**

BA/BS in Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field and 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

**Preferred:**

Erosion and Sediment Control and Construction Inspection experience associated with transportation facilities, including stormwater management projects

Experience managing a team of inspectors

Experience with stream, wetland, and stormwater management plans and construction

Maryland Department of Transportation SHA Erosion and Sediment Control Certification (Yellow Card) or ability to receive within 60 days.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $60,000.00 - $85,000.00.
