Now Hiring Railcar Repair Technicians in Chesterton, IN

The primary duties of a Railcar Repair Technician will include inspecting and repairing railcars to meet customer and industry specifications and standards. All employees are required to wear a full-body harness and work on top of railcars.

Your essential duties and responsibilities will involve:
-Performing railcar repairs such as disassembling, grinding, cleaning, and touch-up painting / decaling.
-Operating various hand and power tools such as air arc, plasma cutting, Huck and welding machines, and oxyfuel operation in heating and cutting processes.

Positions are full time and temp-to-hire. First shift hours are Monday - Friday, 6am-3pm. Overtime may be required. Pay is $22 to start DOE.

Qualifications
-High school diploma or GED required.
-SMAW certification or recent experience required.
-Must possess basic mechanical knowledge, have experience with hand and power tools, and be able to read blueprints / manuals.
-Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
-Must be comfortable working outdoors and at heights.
-Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.
